It is really hard for me to concentrate on his way of presenting his work but what interests me and what i find useful is what had shown on the screen besides/along with the beautiful images. Here are some of these texts I wrote down.

“How would the painter or poet express anything other than his encounter with the world.” —— Maurice Merieau-Ponty

“Working in philosophy-like work in architecture in many respects – is really more a working on oneself. On one’s own interpretation. On one’s way of seeing things[...].” —— Ludwig Wittgenstein

“A man sets himself the task of portraying the world. Over the years he fills a given surface with images of provinces and kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fish, rooms, instruments, heavenly bodies, horses, and people. Shortely before he dies he discovers that this patient labyrinth of lines is a drawings of his own face.” —— EPILOGUE FROM THE MAKER

“Seen from the outside, creativity is the object of fascination and envy; seen from within, it is an unending excercise in uncertainty and a tremendous school for insecurity.”

“Poetry is a tremendous school of insecurity and uncertainty. You never know whether what you have done is any good, still less whether you will be able to do anything good tomorrow. If this doesn’t destroy you. insecurity and uncertainty in the end become your intimate friends and you  almost attribute to them an intelligence of their own.”

“Uncertainty is simply a more alert state than certitude…”

“Uncertainty, you see, is the mother of beauty.” —— Joseph Brodsky, Less Than One and On Grief and Reason.

“What is necessary, after all, is only this: solitude, vast inner solitude.” —— Rainer Maria Rilke

“Why do you want to shut out of your life any uneasiness, any misery, any depression, since after all you don’t know what work these conditions are doing inside you?” —— Rainer Maria Rilke
